Robert Wakefield

Robert (Bob) Wakefield (Falmouth)—Bob currently lives in Falmouth with his wife, Trisha.  They have been married for 35 years and share their home with their beloved Clumber Spaniel, Dudley. 

Bob graduated from USM with a degree in Business Administration. 

He worked for several years at Unum in the sales and marketing area.  In 1983, he ventured out and started his own business, The Great Maine Lobster Company, a high-end lobster gift business.  In the mid-90’s he changed his business model and started a Lobster Bake Franchise business.  Currently he designs and manufactures large lobster steamer equipment for the individual and commercial markets. 

Bob has served on the Make-A-Wish of Maine board for 7 years, as well as a brief stint on the Animal Refuge League’s board.  He has also assisted 2 local non-profit organizations during their start-up phase of operation. 

He enjoys sailing, building wooden boats, and working on antique autos.  He is currently in the process of restoring a 1967 Series IIA Land Rover. 

Bob joined the Iris Network Board of Directors because he believes he can make a difference in the lives of those who are visually impaired.
