Call in Support Group in Maine

May 18, 2020

for Mainers who are blind or visually impaired and their family members or caregivers

Visually Impaired Support Team Alliance or VISTA, originated in the Augusta area, allowing people with a vision impairment to meet in an informal, welcoming environment (by phone) to talk about their challenges and how to overcome them. They mentor and support one another by listening, offering encouragement, and praising each other. No achievement is ever too small!

The group meets (by phone) on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 4:30-6:00 pm EST. For more information, please contact: Leona McKenna 207-333-7087. It is optional, but not necessary, to introduce one’s self to Leona prior to calling the group for the first time. Callers are welcome to drop in/out anytime during the meeting time.

The VISTA toll-free call in number is 800-719-7514 and the guest access code is 594111 (no pound sign needed afterwards). The group discussions are confidential and members are welcome to talk of other struggles besides vision loss, since vision loss may affect other aspects of life.
