Part-time Resident Care Worker (CRMA)

Position:  Resident Care Worker, part-time 12-15 hours/week, ideally evening and weekend shifts with some flexibility, no benefits, based in Portland, ME.  Opportunity for more hours depending on need, as well as covering for other shifts as needed

The Iris Network, a community-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission of helping people who are visually impaired or blind to attain independence and community integration, seeks a part-time Resident Care Worker for its assisted living facility in Portland, Maine. 

Qualifications:  The Resident Care Worker shall be a caring, responsible individual who exhibits dependability, sound judgment, and exceptional interpersonal skills, and who has the ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations. 

Education requirements:  The Resident Care Worker must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  CRMA certification required. Experienced CRMA, as well as CPR and/or First Aid certifications are preferred.

Duties:  The Resident Care Worker’s responsibilities will primarily include administering and accounting for medications, recording residents’ information, assisting with resident-related paperwork, providing first aid in minor emergencies, assisting residents with personal care and light housekeeping as needed, assisting with preparing and serving meals as needed, , and providing general supervision of residents.
