Here's a story written by Ed Murphy, a reporter at the Portland Press Herald, who called The Iris Network yesterday, where he was referred to Dr. Nicholas Giudice, our board member and Professor at the University of Maine. It's about Sue Martin, a Maine woman who is blind and her guide dog, along with her husband who were booted off an American Airlines flight for lack of accommodation for her guide dog. Sue was a former employee at The Iris Network both as a Vision Rehabilitation Teacher and a Computer Tech Specialist prior to taking a job at the VA as a Computer Technology Specialist. She is an excellent dog handler and her dogs are trained through The Seeing Eye.
