What’s on our Horizon…
As summer winds down, we want to take a moment to say a big THANK YOU! This season has been full of energy, laughter, and adventure, and we’re so grateful to have shared it with you. From sunny days on the water to exciting programs at both the AOEC Brunswick and Carrabassett Valley, every moment brought big smiles to our faces!
We’re so grateful for this wonderful, busy, and fun-filled summer—and we can’t wait to carry that momentum into the seasons ahead!
Island Access Tour
September 12th

Join Osprey Echo Sea Kayaking, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, and the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center for an Island Access Tour!
We are excited to be collaborating to offer an accessible experience for people of all abilities to paddle in the scenic coastal DownEast Region of Maine.
AOEC Paint Along
October 12th, 2pm – 4pm
AOEC Brunswick
Join us at the AOEC Brunswick for a community paint along event! Attendees will be guided through a step by step painting of the iconic Portland Headlight!
The event is open to all ages and abilities.
AOEC Open House
October 3rd
Brunswick, ME
Join us and our friends from L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School for an afternoon of outdoor recreation! You will have the chance to try archery, practice your fly casting, scale our 30′ outdoor climbing wall, learn about inclusive paddling equipment, take a stroll through our adaptive trail network, and MORE!
Also, we are excited to share that the Darling’s Ice Cream Truck will be there! Donations for ice cream go to the AOEC!🍦

HORIZONS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
at the AOEC Brunswick
Join us at the AOEC Brunswick Campus for the Horizons After School Program!
Horizons After School Program offers small group opportunities for children with disabilities and their families to engage in fun activities after school! Kids will enjoy a variety of exciting activities including arts and crafts, nature activities, sensory play, rock climbing, gently guided play, and more! This safe and supportive environment fosters social skills, cooperative play, and physical activity for youth with diverse abilities. Siblings are welcome too!.
Note: A parent or caregiver must be present at this program. We can’t wait to see you there!
