What’s on our Horizon…
Summer in Maine – is there anything better? 💛 Here’s a recap from a fabulously fun-filled month here at the AOEC:
- We ran our first week of Horizons Summer Camp with seven awesome kiddos, aged 3 – 7 years old! One parent shared, “My son LOVED this camp, he is still talking about it today and wishing to go back. It was super inclusive and diverse and we are grateful to the care, understanding, and support that was provided.”
- The Horizons Sailing Program was able to navigate unpredictable weather and get out on the water a few times this month!
- We kicked off our 6-week Horizons Golf Series with our friends at Maine Golf Freeport! We shared lots of smiles out on the green!

Did you know we collaborate with Petersen Water Skiing right outside of Kingfield, ME to provide inclusive water skiing opportunities all summer long?
Dan, owner of Petersen Water Skiing, operates out of Indian Pond, with backside views of Sugarloaf! Check out some photos from our day spent there this summer.

Join us and our friends from L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School for an afternoon of outdoor recreation! You will have the chance to try archery, practice your fly casting, scale our 30′ outdoor climbing wall, learn about inclusive paddling equipment, take a stroll through our adaptive trail network, and MORE!
