Iris Park Apartments


  • Low-income housing designed specifically for persons with visual impairment or blindness
  • 30 independent-living apartments with either 1 or 2 bedrooms
  • Apartments are 600 and 800 square feet
  • Each apartment has its own bathroom
  • Accessible common indoor and outdoor areas to enhance community

Seven 1 bedroom and three 2 bedroom apartments are subsidized by Portland Housing Authority; residents pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income on their rent. In order to be eligible for one of these apartments, the head or co-head of the household must be visually impaired or blind, disabled and/or elderly. Preference is given to those who are visually impaired or blind.

Residents live as independently as they desire, schedule their own activities, and create a personal plan for assisted living services.
