The Adaptive Outdoor Education Center (AOEC) partners with The Iris Network

The Adaptive Outdoor Education Center (AOEC) partners with The Iris Network – particularly with Iris Park Apartments by offering various recreational opportunities. Below are some upcoming seasonal events, such as sailing through SailMaine on the Portland Harbor. Anyone in our community can book a stay at the lodge at Sugarloaf any season for only about $20/night or could host a family/friends reunion there as well with a total of 26 single beds.

L.L. BEAN LECTURE SERIES FEATURING TIM JARVIS
MAY 13 / 7pm
L.L. Bean Flagship Store
Freeport, ME

Get inspired for your next adventure by attending the L.L. Bean lecture series! Tim Jarvis will be sharing his worldwide adventures and most notably his reenactment of the Shackleton journey.  We are thrilled to be cosponsoring the event!

PROJECT WILD WORKSHOP
Workshop will be held at the AOEC

Project WILD workshops offer practical hands-on classroom and outdoor field investigation experiences! Participants will receive a curriculum guide filled with award-winning activities, as well as a Contact Hour Certificate, IFW posters and supplemental materials from Maine Audubon.

2017 SAILING SESSIONS
Sessions will run from June through October on Mondays and Thursdays 

We are collaborating with SailMaine, located on the Portland waterfront, to offer an adaptive sailing program for all people with disabilities.  The program is a chance for people of all sailing levels and experience to come enjoy the great outdoors while also learning a new skill. The program is an introduction to sailing.
