New! A new support group has started that will be open to anyone statewide by phone. The meeting will be held on the last Tuesday of each month from 10 – 11 a.m. To dial in for the group, call 1-866-885-0409 code 392121. New! VIP GROUP
VIP GROUP This is a group for persons who are visually impaired, their family, and friends. We meet the first Monday of the month at the Career Center in Skowhegan. This is the same building where The Dept. of Health and Human Services is located in. The address is 98 North Ave. and the phone number is 474-4950. You would enter on the right side of the building. The meeting is from 11:00 to 1:00. We bring a brown bag lunch and talk. Please RSVP to Pat Monahan @ 1-207-561-4022 if interested.

I am writing to inform you that through a program of the Department of Health and Human Services and Western Maine Transportation Services, Inc., you may be eligible for free transportation.
Individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired, who are blind or visually impaired or who have a chronic physical disability are eligible for free transportation services. Even if you do not qualify for Mainecare you may be eligible for this program.
Please fill out the enclosed application and mail it back as soon as possible to start receiving free transportation with Western Maine Transportation Services on a bus or with a volunteer driver.

This is a group for persons who are visually impaired, their family, and friends. We meet the first Wednesday of the month at The River’s Edge Restaurant in Madison. The River’s Edge address is 18 Main St. and the phone number is 696-3326. The meeting in upstairs and there is a ramp on the right side of the building if this is more convenient than the stairs inside. The meeting is from 11:00 to 1:00. We have lunch together and talk. Visually Impaired Persons Sharing:  Rumford, Mexico areas.  Meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10:30 at the Oxford Lanes Bowling Alley, Route 2, Rumford followed by a lunch somewhere in the area.  FMI call Phil Roberts 562-8724

The Wells Support Group: For people with vision impairments and their significant others, Wells Congregational Church, Post Road (US Route 1) 1st Thursday of the month (except July and August), from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. FMI call Brenda Bacon 646-7079.
